Just finished doing a brilliant workshop with Portsmouth Writer Squad at the New Theatre Royal. What a keen and talented group of young scribes. They asked very good questions (and made very good challenges) and responded to the exercises with brio and intelligence. Let no grumpy member of an older generation ever again say that kids today are apathetic!
Fascinating discussions grew out of such topics as the writing profession and how we might approach Portsmouth as a subject for a travelogue.
Thanks to all at New Writing South – and of course to the students themselves – for having me.
